In the evening of 24 June, the 2014 STA Graduation Gala was held at the STA Theatre of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). Mr Lou Wei, Chairman of STA, Prof Han Sheng, President of STA, Ms Hu Min, Vice Chairman of STA and Prof Gong Baorong, Vice President of STA attended the graduation gala together with members of the STA middle-management from all offices, colleges and departments, as well as members of the faculty.
The graduation gala began with the singing of the STA anthem by STA’s Cart Band in the rock and roll style, which was joined lustily by all students present at the event. The nine masters of ceremony were from the nine colleges and departments of STA. During the performance session, the graduating students of the Department of Directing, Department of Theatrical Literature, College of Film and TV Arts, College of Creative Studies, College of Dance, Department of Acting, College of Traditional Chinese Opera, Department of Stage Design and Department of Postgraduate Programs gave a series of wonderful performances in succession, which were echoed by the audience with warm clapping and cheering time and again. All the head teachers of the graduating classes also went onto the stage and expressed their best wishes with the song “Story of Time”.
The graduation gala reached its climax when Mr Lou Wei, Chairman of STA, stood on the stage and sung the song “As long as you live a better life than I do” for all the graduating students of 2014. In the lucky draw that followed, he presented a lifelong entrance ticket of the STA Theatre to the winner, i.e. one of the graduating students. Mr Lou Wei also expressed his best wishes to the graduating students.
The graduation gala was concluded in the music of “Embark on the Journey”. Being a member of STA, wherever we go, we will always remember the saying that “today we feel proud of STA and tomorrow we will let STA feel proud of us”. We wish all graduating student of 2014 a bright and prosperous future.
