From 14 to 18 June, “2014 Chinese Language New Directors Program” Masters Workshop was held successfully at the Virtual Studio of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). The workshop was co-sponsored by STA, organizers of the 17th Shanghai International Film Festival and other partners.
During the five-day workshop, six internationally renowned directors from Asia, namely, Je-gyu Kang, Stanley Kwan, Chen Guo, Isao Yukisada, Shunji Iwai and Wei Desheng came to give presentations. The workshop was attended by 30 participants from the Mainland China, Korea and Taiwan, including 10 young and middle-aged teachers of STA.
This event was a new attempt of the Shanghai International Film Festival, following the model of overseas film festivals. It not only enriched the diverse program of the Shanghai International Film Festival, but also provided the rising young professionals with a broad platform for learning and sharing.
