On the afternoon of 5 June 2014, Mr Jin Shijie, the famous performing artist of Taiwan, gave a lecture at the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). Prof Huang Changyong, Vice President of STA and Prof He Yan and Prof Wang Xueming of STA Acting Department attended the lecture together with a large number of STA students.
Prof Huang made the opening remarks in which he introduced the high and respectable status of Mr Jin in Taiwan’s theatre circle and expressed his heart-felt thanks to Mr Jin for his willingness to share his experience and insight with STA students. In his lecture, Mr Jin shared many stories of his childhood. He liked thinking and did not let go anything easily even when he was only a small child. This helped him to be different from many others when he grew up. His studies in philosophy, theology, psychology and literature when he was young had a great influence on his development later. With great respect and admiration, the students all listened to Mr Jin’s lecture attentively and asked him many questions. Mr Jin answered the questions in an approachable and humorous manner. His answers infected the entire audience and gave rise to rounds of warm applause.
The students have expressed the keen desire for more lectures/workshops by senior experts from different specializations like this one with Mr Jin, which provide them with the platform to exchange and interact with the seniors.
