The cooperation between Shanghai Theatre Academy and Poland Theatre Academy has marched into a substantial stage. The Puppet Department in Poland Theatre Academy is a top institute for European Modern Theatre and Puppet Education, and the quality of teaching is famous all over the world. STA sent 3 exchange students on Oct. 16, 2013, Zheng Kai (10 hand Puppet), Zong Shuqi (11 Muppet), Guo Dongxuan (10 Hand Puppet), who has studied and lived in the Puppet Department on Białystok Campus of Poland Theatre Academy for about a month, and everything, including the study, life and cultural communication, is going on well. This exchange program is the first case in Puppet Major, and received massive attention from the leaders of STA , the department and students.
The three exchange students are warmly welcomed by the Puppet Department of Poland Theatre Academy. With the help of the Academy and local students, they have solved problems in life and on campus and now come to an intense stage of study. Professors on different subjects are not only giving patient lectures during the class but also supplying one-to-one tutorial after class, and they also appoint local students to help exchange students to catch up. Exchange students, who get used to the local life and study pace soon, show great ability and are praised by Paulina Matusiak, the Director of the Puppet Department. They will give performance with local students at the end of the November and show the fantastic traditional cultural art from China. Lately, exchange students have watched the performance of local students and modern opera in local grand theatre, and they are experiencing the exotic culture of Poland and unique culture of Europe. They have the confidence that they will come back to China with excellent modern puppet show to display before their countrymen and fellow students.
