OVIDIU CORNELIU DUMITRIU is a professor of Theatre History and Aesthetics in the Theatre and Film Academy of Bucharest University in Romania. He received his Doctorate in Arts from Babes Bolyai University in Romania. From 1990 to 2000, he had successively taken the office of Executive Secretary of UNESCO Resident Commission in Romania, President of Romania Center of European Development and Cooperation Organization, Secretary of Youth and Sports Department, and Dean of the Theatre Department in Bucharest Theatre and Film Academy. Since 1997, he has been nominated for five times Chair for “Theatre and Social Culture” in UNESCO – International Theatre Institute Resident Secretariat in Romania.
