Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission announced the winners of the competition.
The Shanghai Theatre Academy won three grand prizes, one second prize, and an "Outstanding Organization Award." The number of grand prizes won by the academy accounted for three-fifths of those awarded to universities under the Shanghai municipality, ranking the first, and nearly one-sixth of the total awarded to universities in Shanghai, including those under the Shanghai municipality and those under the relevant ministries.
The Shanghai University Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition, organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, aims to "drive teaching innovation and cultivate top-tier talents." The competition's goals are to "closely focus on building a high-quality education system, deeply promote higher education teaching reform to effectively support the 'Four New' constructions; give full play to the leading role of the competition, comprehensively advance the curriculum-based ideological and political education, and meticulously create a benchmarking display and exchange platform for teaching innovation among teachers of universities in Shanghai."
The competition includes seven main categories: New Engineering, New Medicine, New Agriculture, New Liberal Arts, Basic Courses, Ideological and Political Courses and Industry-Education Integration, with sub-categories for teachers with professor-level titles, associate professor-level titles, and intermediate-level titles and below respectively.
After school-level competitions and online evaluations and on-site reviews for municipal-level competitions, the judges awarded 19 grand prizes, 44 first prizes, 62 second prizes and 17 "Outstanding Organizer” awards.

The Shanghai Theatre Academy has always placed great importance on the University Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition. The Academic Affairs Office actively mobilizes teachers to participate and has conducted policy interpretations and training sessions to encourage participation. After the school-level competition, four teachers advanced to the municipal competition. Prior to the municipal competition, the Academic Affairs Office tailored filming plans for course recordings, meticulously analyzed the evaluation points of the teaching innovation achievement reports based on each teacher's teaching characteristics, and arranged a total 17 "one-on-one" and "one-to-many" pre-competition guidance sessions.
Building on the successes of recent years in the University Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition, the Shanghai Theatre Academy will continue to implement the fundamental task of moral education, constantly drive innovation in education and teaching, promote teaching through competition, and use competition to foster learning and creativity. The academy aims to promote the integrated development of information technology and innovative teaching, encourage teachers to actively engage in teaching innovation, and continually enhance the level of teaching.
