The 5^th World Theatre Education Conference, hosted by the Asia Theatre Education Centre (ATEC) and organized by the Central Academy of Drama, was held online from 10 to 20 May 2022. The theme of the conference was “The Development and Construction of Theatre and Technology. Our university actively submitted papers, and participated in the opening ceremony and paper discussion of the conference online.

As a member university of ATEC, our university has actively participated in every ATEC Theatre Festival and associated academic exchange activities, including this year. On 18 May 2022, Professor Gong Baorong of our university, as a director of the Asia Theatre Education Centre (ATEC), attended the opening ceremony of the conference online on behalf of our university, and made a speech. Professor Huang Changyong, president of our university, sent a congratulatory message to this year's ATEC activities. Wang Yang, a teacher of the Acting Department of our university, released his paper by recorded video on and around the theme of the conference, and also participated in the seminar on 19 May online. At the seminar, all scholars actively discussed and interacted with each other on the papers submitted, which benefited all the teachers and students involved.

The theme of this year’s conference was very consistent with the general environment and development situation present. ATEC has built a good academic exchange platform for theatrical exchanges among theatre schools in Asia under the pandemic. Our university will continue to actively participate in various international academic and artistic activities organized by ATEC and make positive contributions to international theatrical exchanges.
