On 23 March, at the Shanghai Theatre Academy which was under the quasi closed campus management according to the unified deployment for colleges and universities, the crew of the large-scale original drama "Outpost" presented a special gift to the students, resident faculty and property security personnel in the four campuses, i.e. "Outpost" branded "Only One" Sachima.
A few days ago, the bilingual version of “Hamlet” in Mandarin and Tibetan, produced by the Shanghai Theatre Academy, directed by Pu Cunxin and performed by the Tibetan Class of the Department of Acting, was successfully staged in the Capital Theater in Beijing and received extensive attention and warm praise from audience both in and outside the industry.
The large-scale original drama "Outpost" was originally planned to be staged in the Capital Theater on 23 and 24 March immediately after "Hamlet", and then to be staged in the Centennial Memorial Hall of Peking University on 1 and 2 April, thereby creating the scenario of consecutive performances of works produced by the Shanghai Theatre Academy in Beijing. If everything had proceeded as normal, these two dramas would embark on the 2022 nationwide performance tours with the Capital Theater as the starting point.
However, due to the complex and severe situation of the pandemic in Shanghai currently, the crew of "Outpost", which had already assembled in the Shanghai Theatre Academy Experimental Theatre on 8 March for the re-production of the play, still had to postpone the performances originally scheduled in Beijing despite the efforts to overcome various difficulties.
23 March was the day when "Outpost" was originally planned to perform in the Capital Theater. In this special period, the Performing Arts Center of Shanghai Theatre Academy and the crew of "Outpost" decided to give the 3000 pieces of Sachima originally prepared for the audience of the performances in Beijing to the teachers, students and staff of each campus, as a token of thanks to everyone for their contribution to pandemic prevention and control in Shanghai, and hoping that this "Only One" Sachima would bring a touch of bright color to the campus under the quasi closed management.
Although “Outpost” has had its Beijing performances postponed, it came to us again on the original "premiere day" in another form.
