General Secretary Xi Jinping's recent reply letter to teachers and students of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts triggered a strong response from teachers and students of the Shanghai Theater Academy (STA). As soon as the reply letter was published, STA immediately launched a multi-level and all-round study and discussion of the letter. On 26 October, the STA College of Chinese Opera and the affiliated School of Chinese Opera took the lead in holding a meeting to study the spirit of the General Secretary's reply letter. As a specialized art university, teachers and students of STA, especially those from the major of Chinese opera, are deeply encouraged. They all expressed that they would further strengthen the self-confidence in culture, adhere to the principle of keeping the right and pursuing innovation, and make new and greater contributions to the inheritance of Chinese excellent traditional culture.
