Campus Sharing Session of New Film “My People My Homeland” is Held at STA

On 21 September, Xu Zheng, an alumnus of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and a famous director, returned to STA with his new work "My People My Homeland". On this occasion, he brrought the benefits of watching the new film in advance to students of his Alma Mater, and shared his creative experience with them.

The film, which is divided into five stories and is jointly made by seven well-known domestic directors to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, will be launched in the National Day schedule of major cinemas on 10 October. The "Last Lesson" unit of the film, directed by Xu Zheng, tells a hilarious and touching story about the teachers who return after many years to the rural village where they used to teach. Also present at the sharing session was Han Haolin, a little actor in the film.

After the screening of the film clips, there was a warm applause in the theater. The film watching experience could be described as laughter mixed with tears. The exaggerated plot and touching feelings for homelandall reflected the director's skills.

Shanghai is Xu Zheng's hometown, and STA is his Alma Mater. Therefore, it is of special significance for the roadshow of the "Last Lesson" unit of the film to be held at STA. During the event, Xu Zheng extended his affectionate greetings to his teachers sitting in the audience.T he atmosphereof the subsequent interaction session was very relaxed and active. Xu Zheng's words encouraged every art student present to stick to their dreams with their own actions, and to create more literary and artistic works that touch the hearts of the people. At the end of the event, the whole audience sang "My Motherland" with passion, wishing the Peoples Republic of China a happy 71st birthday.

The two films, i.e.My People My motherland in 2019 andMy People and My Homeland, all have Xu Zheng's contributions. Equally important, Xu Zheng's love is also connected with his Alma Mater.
