Kong Baiji used to be one of the most important painters in Shanghai in the 1970s. He has held painting exhibitions for many times in Shanghai and aroused strong social response. Some of his works have been collected by some international museums or art galleries; and some others usually appear in international large-scale auctions. Not limited by materials, Kong is good at integrating eastern and western arts, which is clearly reflected on his combination of painting on paper and painting on canvas. He has been deeply influenced by Van Gogh and later art schools. His works, therefore, convey the tone of expressionism and are characteristic of variable lines and rich colors. His representatives include Collection of Kong Baiji's Oil Paintings and Tian An Men Square Anthology.
