On 16 December 2019, Helena gaunt, Principal, Royal Walsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD), UK, and party, visited Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and held talks with Huang Changyong, President of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA). From the STA side, Guo Chenyan, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Fang Jun, Secretary of the Party Branch of College of Creative Studies, Zong Yu of the International Exchange Center also participated in the reception.

Ms Helena Gaunt introduced the master’s degree course in arts management and bachelor’s degree course in stage management at RWCMD. President Huang Changyong pointed out that the arts management major of STA should work quite well with the relevant major of RWCMD, and hoped to tap the potential of cooperation. The two sides had in-depth discussions on the 2+1 cooperation project for master’s degree in arts management and the 2+2 cooperation project for double bachelor’s degree in arts management leading to the preliminary consensus for cooperation, and will finalized the specific cooperation matters as soon as possible. At the same time, President Huang Changyong also warmly invited the Principal of RWCMD to attend the International Small Theatre Festival and the Chinese and International Drama School Presidents Forum that STA will hold next year. Ms Helena Gaunt accepted the invitation with pleasure.

The consensus reached by the two sides in this meeting will have important significance for advancing the international cooperative education projects of STA and the construction of related disciplines.
