The Shanghai Theatre Academy Spring Job Fair for Class of 2024 Graduates was recently held at the Changling Road campus, while the Plaque Unveiling Ceremony for Shanghai Film (Group) Co Ltd Internship and Practice Base for College Students was held at the same time.

To further implement the Ministry of Education's "Spring Employment Promotion Action," the Shanghai Theatre Academy has been proactive in hosting a series of activities such as "company visits for expanding job opportunities", "companies entering the campus" and "students entering companies," providing "one-stop" employment services for graduates and employers, and continuously following up and finalizing the outcomes of each activity to effectively promote high-quality and fuller employment for graduates.

Under the guidance of the Shanghai Student Affairs Centre, STA carefully prepared the spring job fair, which was held in an offline and online-combined mode. The job fair invited 85 employers from various industries such as culture and art, creative industries, broadcasting and media, professional theatres, education, science and technology, offering 319 positions with a demand for 1734 employees.

Not only did top enterprises and institutions from the cultural and arts field like Shanghai Film (Group) Co Ltd, Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre Co Ltd, Shanghai Concert Hall Management Co Ltd, Shanghai Opera House, and Shanghai Disney Resort participate in the fair, but also leading game companies such as MiHoYo Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd and Shanghai Papergames Technology Co Ltd, as well as digital culture industry leaders like Shanghai Fengyuzhu Culture and Technology Co Ltd, Shanghai Film, Radio & TV Production Co Ltd, and Shanghai Motion Magic Digital Entertainment Inc, new business model enterprises such as MeiOne (Shanghai) Internet Technology Co Ltd, and new energy companies like Shanghai NIO User Service Co Ltd. Many enterprises owned and/or managed by STA alumni were also present at the job fair, looking to augment their companies with professional talents and, more importantly, contribute to the high-quality and fuller employment of graduates from their alma mater. The talent work office of Pujiang Town, the community affairs acceptance service center of Pujin Sub-district, the Shanghai Online Audio-Visual Industry Association, the Shanghai Radio & TV Production Industry Association, and others offered strong support for the job fair.

The atmosphere at the fair was enthusiastic, with graduates actively communicating with employers, showcasing their professional skills, and seeking development opportunities. According to statistics, there were 737 online resume submissions and 2082 online visitors to the fair's platform. Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, visited the employers' booths to gain a detailed understanding of their recruitment plans and major-related needs, and also engaged with the job-seeking graduates to inquire about their studies and career intentions. He encouraged the graduates to cherish the current employment opportunities and actively present and recommend themselves to the employers, and looked forward to them realizing their personal value in the society and at the workplace in the future.

The plaque unveiling ceremony for the Shanghai Film (Group) Co Ltd Internship and Practice Base for College Students was also held on the same day.

Zhang Weiling introduced STA's talent training model, stating that STA would further pool social resources and precisely connect talent cultivation with employers' needs through resource sharing and collaborative talent nurturing with employers, jointly supporting the high-quality and fuller employment for graduates.

Wu Weiming, Director of the Board Office and Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department at Shanghai Film Group, introduced the "Shanghai Theatre Academy Special Internship Program," hoping to provide graduates with broader development opportunities through university-enterprise cooperation, and to demonstrate the company’s responsibility and commitment in advancing the deeply coordinated development between talent resources from higher education institutions and industry.

The successful establishment of the Shanghai Film (Group) Co Ltd Internship and Practice Base for College Students is one of the outcomes of the visit by the STA leadership to the Shanghai Film Group as part of the "Visit Enterprises and Expanding Job Opportunities" employment promotion campaign. Based on the strategic cooperation framework agreement signed with Shanghai Film Group, both parties reached a consensus on further cooperation in party building, talent cultivation, resource sharing and joint creation of works, including the establishment of an internship and practice base for Shanghai Theatre Academy students at the Shanghai Film Group, the launch of the "Shanghai Theatre Academy Special Internship Program" and the annual recruitment of 30 interns specifically from the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Both sides will engage in in-depth cooperation in talent training, project-based education, internship and practice, offering graduates more opportunities for practical training.

Following the plaque unveiling ceremony, Xu Xin, the head of campus recruitment from MiHoYo and Bai Meixia, the HR director from Fengyuzhu respectively gave corporate presentations, which enhanced graduates' understanding of industry demands.

To better serve graduates' employment needs, services such as resume printing and "Seagull Plan" career growth assistance for female university students were available on site, providing one-on-one service and guidance. Additionally, the Talents Office of Pujiang Town and the Pujin Sub-district Community Affairs Acceptance and Service Centre were specially invited to set up a talent policy advisory area to provide consultation and guidance on internship, employment and entrepreneurship matters for young people, and to help college students take their first step in their careers successfully.
