As a film honoring the fifth anniversary of the Symposium for School Ideological and Political Theory Teachers, "Being a Teacher" is a significant work reflecting the reform and innovation in ideological and political courses and the advancement of comprehensive ideological and political education. The Party Committee of our university has placed great emphasis on the preview screening of this film. Under the care of the academy's Party Committee, the School of Marxism convened a preparatory meeting for the film's preview screening on 26 March, with the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Hu Min, attending the meeting and organizing relevant tasks. The Publicity Department, Student Affairs Department, Faculty Affairs Department, and College of Film all rendered substantial support for the screening.

On 10 April 2024, "Being a Teacher," the first light comedy film in the history of Chinese cinema with a focus on the theme of ideological and political education teachers, was exclusively screened at the Changlin Road campus auditorium of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Ideological and political teachers, counselors, and more than 200 student representatives from our university attended the preview.

The film narrates the growth journey of Sun Heng, a young ideological and political theory teacher at a higher education institution, who decides to follow the path of teaching at a university, inspired by his high school political science teacher, Gao Huaide. With the support of Dean Feng from the School of Marxism and counselor Jiang Li, he leads students to foster unity, pursue their dreams, and grow through the integration of small ideological and political classrooms with the grand societal classroom, eventually becoming a beloved and popular teacher. The movie features numerous authentic scenes of ideological and political teachers giving lectures and interacting with students, which effortlessly resonates with the audience, making them feel a sense of belonging and empathy for the various issues and phenomena depicted. The intergenerational mentorship and the nurturing relationship between Teacher Gao Huaide and Sun Heng throughout Sun's career are touchingly depicted, deeply moving the viewers. The audience expressed that the film, using the relaxed form of light comedy, conveys the dedication and responsibility of ideological and political teachers and counselors towards their students, and highlights the crucial role of education in nurturing and developing an individual's potential. This elicits a sense of resonance among viewers during moments of laughter and provokes reflection thereafter. In particular, Sun Heng's sentiment, "How fortunate it is to meet a good teacher, and how lucky it is to become one!" not only captures the protagonist's reflection but also resonates with the viewing teachers and students.
