On 1 March, the Chinese Opera School Affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy kicked off the themed-day activity series, joyously celebrating its 70th anniversary with a series of themed-day activities with warmth, quality and spirit.

The small stage alongside the river on the school's premises was officially unveiled with a new name, "Lianhua Stage". Named after the school's location on Lianhua Road, the "Lianhua Stage" will regularly host performances by students every week weather permitting, presenting the charm of Chinese opera art to nearby residents. This riverfront stage will transform the riverbank into a unique urban cultural hub, providing more cultural activities and opportunities to appreciate Chinese excellent traditional culture for citizens.

Just like how the "Lianhua Stage" transforms the riverbank into a stage, the "Bright Bar Study" brings the charm of Chinese opera into the world of books. On the same day, the Chinese Opera School Affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy signed cultural cooperation agreements with Meilong Town and Shanghai Literary and Art Publishing House, aiming to broaden artistic horizons, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all sectors of society and jointly promote the inheritance and development of Chinese opera culture through deep collaboration with local governments and cultural industries.

The opening of the "Bright Bar Study" adds a significant touch to the school's campus culture of reading and learning. In the future, this "Bright Bar Study" will become an important venue for teachers and students of the Chinese Opera School to study and communicate.

On the same day, the Zhenfei Building Theater of the Chinese Opera School Affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy was also abuzz with activities. Students from the Minhang District Chinese Opera Heritage Alliance Base and some member schools of the alliance presented artistic performances of various Chinese opera genres such as Peking Opera, Kun Opera and Shanghai Opera. The school's original musical "Herdboy Wang Erxiao" also brought a vivid artistic ideological and political lesson to teachers and students of Pingnan Primary School and Huaping Primary School.

Zhang Jun, the principle of the Chinese Opera School Affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy, stated that standing at a new historical starting point, the Chinese Opera School should better shoulder its new cultural mission and radiate the "new charm" of excellent culture through innovation while adhering to traditional values. In the future, the Chinese Opera School will continue to collaborate with the Minhang District Education Bureau to build an extended classroom for aesthetic and ideological and political education for students throughout the district. Through performances every Friday afternoon, the theatre of the Chinese Opera School will gradually become a "cultural broadcast hall" for primary and secondary school students in Minhang District and even the entire city. This is also a "small foothold" for the school's "greater ideological and political course".

Zhu Xuejun, Chairman of the CPPCC Minhang District Committee, Bi Sheng, Party Secretary and President of the Shanghai Literary and Art Publishing House, Zhang Xian, Deputy Mayor of Minhang District, Cai Yihui, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Minhang District Political Committee, Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Han Zhaoyang, Secretary-General of the CPCCC Minhang District Committee, as well as leaders from the Chinese Opera School Affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy, the College of Chinese Opera of Shanghai Theatre Academy and relevant units in Minhang District attended the event.
