On the afternoon of 29 February 2024, at the beginning of the new semester, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, participated in the collective lesson preparation meeting of the School of Marxism according to the usual practice of previous years. The meeting was held in the East Meeting Room on the second floor of the Fuxi Building on the Huashan Road campus. The agenda of the meeting included conducting a special study on the "Behavioral Norms and Guidelines for Teachers of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Colleges and Universities in the New Era" and collective lesson preparation focusing on the key points of the new semester's situation and policy teaching. Fang Jun, Deputy Head of the Party Committee’s Publicity Department and Secretary of the General Party Branch of the College of Creative Studies, relevant personnel from the Party Committee Office and the Teachers Work Department, and all teachers from the School of Marxism attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Chen Min, Dean of the School of Marxism.
At the meeting, Shi Huadong, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Marxism and the Department of Humanities and Social Science, first fully conveyed the "Behavioral Norms and Guidelines for Teachers of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Colleges and Universities in the New Era" issued by the Ministry of Education, and shared his learning experience in combination with the deeds of Qu Jianwu, a role model of the times. Then, Chen Min, Dean of the School of Marxism, reported on the key points of the School of Marxism’s work plan for 2024. Subsequently, in the collective lesson preparation session, teacher Cao Junyang reported on the topic of "Clarifying the Current Situation and Unwaveringly Doing a Good Job in Ideological Work", and teacher Liu Xiaohai reported on the topic of "The Future Has Arrived: New Developments and Impacts of Global Technology".
The entire lesson preparation meeting lasted for nearly two hours. Party Secretary Xie Wei gave a summary speech, in which he commended the work of the School of Marxism in 2023 and put forward four requirements for the work of the School of Marxism in 2024: First, attach importance to the implementation of the "Behavioral Norms and Guidelines for Teachers of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Colleges and Universities in the New Era"; second, encourage teachers of ideological and political courses to become good teachers and friends of students; third, open the door to run ideological and political courses, strengthen cooperation with functional offices and other secondary colleges and departments, and serve the construction of the university's greater ideological and political courses. Through this special study session and collaborative lesson preparation, all teachers of ideological and political theory courses have clearly aligned their mindsets with the expectations and requirements of the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and the university's Party Committee regarding the ideological and political theory courses. In terms of action objectives, they have established a unified direction for diligent efforts for the year 2024, striving to achieve superior outcomes through the combined efforts of all faculty members at the School of Marxism.
