In February 2024, the seventh National College Students' Open Class Demonstration Event on Ideological and Political Education ended successfully. The theme of this event was "New Thought Leads to New Journey, New Youth Builds New Era", which was one of the two major events of the themed education activities under the pilot project for the comprehensive study of Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new ear carried out by the Ministry of Education. The micro-course "Inheriting Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture" sent by our university won the third prize. This is the first time our school has achieved a breakthrough in winning national-level award in this event.

The micro-course is guided by teacher Shi Huadong and delivered by student Cao Jiayi. It tells the vision and thoughts of a college student who is committed to telling Chinese stories well. The two programs of "Tang Palace Midnight Banquet" and "Luoshen Water Dance" are quoted and described through poetry, songs and lyrics, which show the positive exemplars of creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese traditional culture. Using "The Three Body" as an example, it explains how to disseminate Chinese culture in international cultural exchanges through the approach of "seeking common ground while reserving differences," and expresses the yearning of college students in the new era for inheriting and promoting the excellent traditional culture of China.
The breakthrough achieved by the work selected and submitted by the Marxist College in this competition is inseparable from the strong support of the university’s party committee, which is an important achievement of the construction of the "Great Ideological and Political Education Course" in our university, and is also a typical example of the Marxist College combining Xi Jinping's cultural thoughts with the teaching of ideological and political education course. Participation in the national open class competition is a chance for all teachers and students to learn and exercise. This award is not only a meaningful breakthrough, but also shows us the gaps and shortcomings in theoretical learning. The Marxist College will work with all students to continuously improve their own level and strengthen their own characteristics on the basis of in-depth study of Xi Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.
