At the opening ceremony of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held several days ago, President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech entitled "Building an Open, Inclusive and Interconnected World for Common Development", and announced eight major steps China will take to support the joint pursuit of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's "Belt and Road" initiative. In order to promote humanistic exchanges and cooperation among countries along the "Belt and Road", the Shanghai Theatre Academy, as one of the founding members of the Network for Higher Education in the Performing Arts, will make use of the platform of the ITI/UNESCO Network for Higher Education in the Performing Arts to further strengthen the development of the network for cooperation, promote the exchange performances, and increase the efforts in the fields of talent cultivation, discipline development and so on.
From 29 October to 4 November 2023, the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the International Theatre Institute will co-host the “Silk Road” Traditional Performing Arts Festival and International Symposium.
The event will include the showcase of seven productions, four workshops and three academic seminars. Overseas participants will come from countries involved in the “Belt and Road” cooperation, including Russia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei, Bangladesh, Belgium, and Italy.
