Dr Evelin Hust, the newly arrived Head of the Culture and Education Section and Consul (Culture and Education) of the German Consulate-General in Shanghai, visited the Shanghai Theatre Academy on 21 September 2023. From the Shanghai Theatre Academy, Zhang Yunlei, Director of the International Exchange Centre, Chen Jun, Dean of the Department of Dramatic Literature, and Chen Ying, Deputy Party Secretary of the Department of Theatre and Literature, met with the guest.
Dr Irene Hust just arrived at posting in June this year. On this visit, she would like to have an in-depth understanding of the Shanghai Theatre Academy and, at the same time, look for opportunities for cultural and artistic exchanges and cooperation between Germany and the Shanghai Theatre Academy, so as to promote cultural exchanges between China and Germany. Zhang Yunlei and Chen Jun introduced the international exchanges carried out by the Shanghai Theatre Academy and by the Department of Dramatic Literature respectively, and they also talked about the cooperation between the Shanghai Theatre Academy and Germany in the past. On behalf of the Shanghai Theatre Academy, they expressed the hope for the Cultural Consul could recommend cultural cooperation and exchange projects to the Shanghai Theatre Academy, so as to deepen the exchanges and cooperation between China and Germany.
