On the afternoon of 15 March, Wang Jingchun, an outstanding graduate of BA Acting 1995 of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), who had won the best actor award in the Tokyo Film Festival and the Berlin Film Festival for his performance in the film "To Live and Die in Ordos" and the film "So Long My Son" respectively, walked onto the stage of the STA Experimental Theatre with the Silver Bear trophy in his hands, smiling brilliantly and waving his greetings to the students sitting in the audience. The applause of the students lasted for a long time in the theatre which was fully seated.

Holding the trophy in one hand and the microphone in the other, Wang Jingchun was just like giving his acceptance speech at the award ceremony. "Since I graduated from STA and became an actor, I have thought about that one day I would stand on the stage to receive the award and give the acceptance speech. Winning this award in Berlin is not only the recognition of my performance, but also the realization of my dream.” said Wang Jingchun.

Zhao Guobin, who was Wang Jingchun’s head teacher at STA, insisted on putting "good foundation and strong endurance" into the teaching guidelines. Wang Jingchun was a student with such qualities. Liu Ning, who was Wang Jingchun’s articulation teacher, recalled that Wang Jingchun was one of the hardest-working students and loved to think critically.

Shanghai-based graduates of the BA Acting 1995, Lu Yi, Bao Lei, Wang Yinan and Zhu Yongteng, all came to the event. They are proud of having such a classmate. Lu Yi mentioned the motto Professor Mi Zeng of the STA Acting Department which is “addiction, fascination and hard practice”.

For becoming famous, Wang Jingchun talked about his own experience and feeling: The four years of study at STA is very important. One can only continue to move forward in this industry in the future by learning solidly in these four years to acquire solid basic skills. It is all about listening earnestly, looking earnestly and feeling earnestly.”
