On 15 March, Wang Jingchun, who won the Best Actor Award of the 69th Berlin Film Festival, paid his own money for the screening of his award-winning film "So Long My Son" at the STA Experimental Theatre of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), i.e. his alma mater. As the class monitor of the BA Acting 1995 of the STA Acting Department, Wang Jingchun also invited Zhao Guobin and Mi Zeng, his acting teachers mentioned in his speech at the award ceremony, and some of his former classmates of BA Acting 1995 to the screening event.
When Wang Jingchun stepped on the stage, the audience applauded loudly. He Yan, Dean of the STA Acting Department, presided over the event on behalf of STA. Wang Jingchun admitted, "I have been aiming to stand on the stage as an award winner since I entered STA. If I said that I had never thought of wining the best actor award, I was pretending!" Five years ago, he was also one of the actors in the film "Black Coal, Thin Ice". When Liao Fan stepped on the stage as the winner of the Best Actor Award for his performance in that film, he sat down in the audience applauding for his brother-like friend.
Wang Jingchun invited his former teachers and classmates to appear on the stage together. He and Lu Yi sat next to each other. There are many stars from his class. Besides Lu Yi and Wang Yinan, there are also Luo Haiqiong and Lu Yi's wife Bao Lei, as well as film and television producer Dong Ying and drama director Wang Yang etc.
Teachers are even happier when their students win prizes. Wang Jingchun also directly put the Silver Bear Award into the hands of Zhao Guobin, one of his former acting teachers. At this time, the two teachers sat down while Wang Jingchun was squatting next to them. Teacher Mi Zeng kept emphasizing on the importance for anyone learning acting to remember the motto of "addicted, fascinated, practicing hard", so that they can have "good foundation and surpassing power" like Wang Jingchun.
"The happiest thing for me is to be honest and act earnestly", said Wang Jing Chun. Finally, he used his teachers’ words as his advice to current STA students – “When you enter STA, you should study steadfastly for four years. Don't think about becoming famous and successful. Instead, you should listen earnestly, look earnestly and feel earnestly! "
