The signing ceremony of the Cooperation Agreement on the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Hengdian Film Academy (temporary name, hereinafter referred to as Hengdian Film Academy) between the Shanghai Theatre Academy and the Hengdian Group Holding Co Ltd (hereinafter referred to as Hengdian Group) was held at the Foxi Building of the Shanghai Theatre Academy on the morning of 21 January 2019.
The signing of this agreement reflects Shanghai Theatre Academy’s consciousness both in mind and action to take the responsibility to practically and effectively promote the implementation of the national strategy of “Integrated Regional Development of the Yangtze River Delta”. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the “Implementation Rules of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Sino-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools, in line with the principle of "sharing resources, reciprocity and mutual benefit, win-win cooperation", and aiming at "school-enterprise cooperation and common development", the Shanghai Theatre Academy, as the Chinese partner of the Hengdian Film Academy, will work together with the Hengdian Group in the proposed cooperation with the Pratt Institute of the United States to jointly establish the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Hengdian Film Academy. The establishment of the Hengdian Film Academy the college will mark the formal establishment of the film and television specialties in Zhejiang Province. It will not only benefit the sustainable development of the film and television industry of the Hengdian Group, but also help the further promotion of related disciplines of the Shanghai Theatre Academy and, moreover, reflect the active response of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Opera to the national development strategy.
Attending the signing ceremony from the Shanghai Theatre Academy were Party Secretary Lou Wei, President Huang Changyong, Vice President Yang Yang and the heads of the relevant functional departments of the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Attending the signing ceremony from the Hengdian Group included Chairman and President Xu Yong’an and Party Secretary, Board Director and Vice President Xu Wencai etc. President Huang Changyong and President Xu Yong’an signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of each party respectively in the witness of all participants to the event.
