Performance in London, the 2nd leg of STA's 2019 Spring Festival Overseas Performance Tour, was completed successfully

Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and supported by the Chinese embassies in the relevant foreign countries, the 2019 Spring Festival Performance Tour organized by the Shanghai Cultural and Tourism Bureau and the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) opened in London on February 6, after completing the performances in Belgium.

The first performance in London was held at the Chinese Embassy, entertaining the diplomatic staff with a rich program of dance, Chinese opera, folk music, puppet show. Ambassador Liu Xiaoming and his wife also attended the performance with the Embassy staff and, from time to time, asked the head and deputy head of the STA performance delegation about the situation of STA and the related majors.

On 9 February, the performance delegation went to the Maritime Museum on the outskirts of London to perform in its indoor square "GREAT MAP" together with the local Chinese traditional cultural and artistic groups. The performance on the day was also part of the activities of the traditional Parent-Child Day organized by the Maritime Museum. The wonderful performance won warm applause from many young European parents and children. There were altogether three performances on this day and the two others were the performance in the theatre of the British National Art Gallery and the outdoor performance in Trafalgar Square invited by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in London. These brought the London leg of the Spring Festival Performance Tour to a successful conclusion.

On the morning of 11 February, the performance delegation traveled by bus to the small town of Preston for the next leg of the Spring Festival Performance Tour, i.e. Northern Ireland.
