Recently, the “Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Publishing the List of Operating Points of National and Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Majors 2020” was issued
Through online application by relevant universities and examination by competent education authorities which were followed by evaluation, voting and recommendation by the Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education has identified 3977 operating points of national first-class undergraduate majors. At the same time, 4448 operating points of provincial first-class undergraduate majors have also been approved.
Four majors at the Shanghai Theatre Academy were selected into the operating points of national first-class undergraduate majors of 2020, and two majors were selected into the operating points of provincial first-class undergraduate majors of 2020.
National first-class undergraduate majors:

- Radio and television programming and directing
- Dance performance
- Directing for theatre, film and television
Provincial first-class undergraduate majors:
- Radio broadcasting and professional hosting
- Dramaturgy
The Ministry of Education launched the operating points program of first-class undergraduate majors in April 2019, and carried out the first-time selection in that year. Up to now, seven majors at the Shanghai Theatre Academy have been selected into the operating points of national first-class national undergraduate majors, and 4 major have been selected into the operating points of provincial first-class undergraduate majors. Of which, the two majors of Radio and Television Programming and Directing and Directing for Theatre, Film and Television have been upgraded from the operating points of provincial first-class undergraduate majors in 2019 to the operating points of national first-class undergraduate majors in 2020.
