Shanghai Theatre Academy’s College of Creative Studies and National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts’ Department of International Cultural Exchange Carry out Exchange Activities on Party Building and Ideological and Political Education in 2020

The CPC branch of the College of Creative Studies of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and the CPC general branch of the Department of International Cultural Exchange of National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts shook hands once again! Recently, Yu Jiangang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and director of the Department of international Cultural Exchange, National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, led some of the teachers of his department to visit the STA College of Creative Studies located at the Changlin Road Campus of STA. This was another in-depth exchange between the two college/department level party organizationsin Beijing and Shanghai after the signing of the agreement on co-building of party organizations and the seminar on curriculum-based ideological and political education jointly held in Beijing in November 2019.

Fang Jun, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the CPC branch of the College ofCreative Studies, STA, introduced to the guests the "Cultural Corner for Party Building and Ideological and Political Education" newly set up within the college. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of Shanghai Theatre Academy and the 70th anniversary of the founding of National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts. The leaders of the College of Creative Studies of Shanghai Theatre Academy and the Department of International Cultural Exchange of National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts also exchanged souvenirs of the anniversary celebration of their respective university at the "Cultural Corner for Party Building and Ideological and Political Education".

After that, the two sides exchanged views at the Foxi Library, and happily recalled the situation of signing the agreement on the co-building of party organizations and holding the discussion on curriculum-based ideological and political education last year. This year, although affected by the COVID-19 pandemics, teachers and students from the two sides formed a joint team to participate in the "2020 National College Students' Art Venue Revitalization Planning Proposals Competition" and won the prize. In the second half of the year, teachers from the two sides conducted teaching interaction online and made wonderful sharing.

Director Yu Jiangang gave full recognition to the innovative projects such as the Cultural Corner for Party Building and Ideological and Political Education and the Foxi Library, and expressed that he would donate the textbooks compiled and published by his department to the Foxi Library. The leaders of both sides also reached a consensus on further advancing the exchange activities on the development of curriculum-based ideological and political education between teachers of both sides next year.
