On 28 October, Xia Ping, Director of the Shanghai Art Research Center (including the former Shanghai Art Research Institute and Shanghai Cultural and Art archives) and party came to the Library of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) for a visit and exchange. Professor Li Wei, Director of the STA Library, and the persons-in-charge from the relevant sections warmly received the visiting experts.


Accompanied by Director Li, the experts visited the library on the Huashan Road Campus where they got to know the main collection, service functions and focus of work of each library room, and acquired a certain understanding of the STAS Library.


After the visit, the two sides had a more in-depth work exchange and discussion in the Foxi Building. In addition to the sharing of basic information, the discussion focused on project cooperation in the future and other matters of mutual interest. In the course of the exchange, both sides agreed that the libraries and archives of cultural and art organizations should "inherit and carry forward the excellent art and culture", which is the social responsibility endowed by the profession and the source of the sense of professional loftiness.


Based on the concept of "win-win cooperation and social responsibility", the two sides further stressed the following key points: (1) strengthen mutual exchanges and cooperation, record Shanghai's art and culture, especially stage art, through the integration of library resources and other means, do a good job in the work of inheritance and, in the meantime, provide support for various research activities; (2) extensively carry out various activities to make positive contributions to the art development of Shanghai.


After the meeting, the two sides exchanged classic books and took a group photo to mark the successful conclusion of the visit.
