Do you still remember the guest of honor who addressed the Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) in June this year?
Every year, STA invites an alumni representative to give his/her best wishes to the graduates at the graduation ceremony, and it was her who came to the ceremony this year!
Xi Meijuan, a Class of 1976 graduate of the Acting Department of STA, is currently vice chairwoman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice chairwoman of the China Film Association, and chairwoman of the presidium of the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
At the Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony of STA, Xi Meijuan recalled her teacher Mr Xu Qiping's "Ten Commandments for Actors" affectionately, which aroused strong resonance among alumni of STA and members of the literary and art circles.
The recently published 9th issue of “Shanghai Literature” in 2020 carries Xi Meijuan’s article “My Acting Teachers”, which mentions three senior teachers of STA, namely, Xu Qiping, Zhang Yingxiang and Lu Ruoping.
This is another occasion that Xi Meijuan has recalled her mentors in her university days since she mentioned them at STA’s graduation ceremony earlier this year. This emotion is moving, and also provides enlightenment for us to run art education earnestly to the satisfaction of the people.
