Personages without party affiliation are an important force in China's political life and an important part of the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system led by the Communist Party of China (CPC). According to the relevant regulations and requirements of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Party committee and the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee for Education and Health Work, and as reviewed and approved by the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Theatre Academy Committee, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) has identified a new group of personages without party affiliation. On 10 September, a collective heart-to-heart meeting was held for the newly identified personages without party affiliation. Hu Min, Deputy Secretary of the CPC STA Committee, attended the meeting and had a heart-to-heart talk with them.
Hu Min introduced in detail the definition, connotation and historical status of personages without party affiliation, and put forward the requirements for personages without party affiliation to strengthen their belief, always adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and play a role in the new round of construction and development of STA under the new situation.
This time, a total of 12 personages without party affiliation were identified, all of whom were representative figures with certain influence in teaching, research and creation in the relevant colleges, departments and functional offices. At the meeting, the newly identified personages without party affiliation also made a brief exchange based on their own actuality, expressing that they would enhance their sense of identity as personages without party affiliation, adhere to the fine tradition of the older generation of personages without party affiliation, always be of one heart and one mind with the Communist Party of China, perform their duties wholeheartedly, forge ahead on the basis of their own work, and constantly play their unique advantages and roles as personages without party affiliation.
Relevant comrades from the Organization Department and the Teacher Affairs Department and secretaries of the CPC organizations in the colleges and departments concerned also attended the heart-to-heart meeting. The United Front Work Department of STA will report to the United Front Work Division of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee for Education and Health Work and the United Front Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee for the record after the newly identified personages without party affiliation fill in the form and register.
