Red culture creative works of STA College of Creative Studies win prizes again

On 30 June, on the occasion of celebrating the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the award ceremony of the 1st Shanghai Red Culture Creative Competition and the launch ceremony of the 2nd Shanghai Red Culture Creative Competition were held at the Eastday.com. Among the works chosen and submitted by the Party branch of the College of Creative Studies of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), three sets were shortlisted for the second round competition. Finally, two sets of works created by students of BA Visual Communication Design 2016, i.e. “Zhao Hua Xi Shi” monthly calendar (a cultural and creative work featuring Lu Xun Memorial Hall) by Zhu Ningxing and “Spring Rain and Red Peach Blossoms” rain gear (a cultural and creative work featuring Longhua Martyrs Memorial Museum) by Wu Yiqing respectively, won the Shortlist Prize. In addition, the Party branch of the STA College of Creative Studies won the Excellent Organization Prize.

The 1st Shanghai Red Culture Creative Competition was officially launched in October last year. The competition was co-hosted by the Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism. It was co-organized by the Eastday.com and the Changning District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, with the support of 32 red culture venues in throughout the city.

After the competition was launched, the students of visual communication design major of the College of Creative Studies participated actively. Under the guidance of teachers, students of Grade 2016 and Grade 2018 handed in more than ten designs. The competition organizers invited senior experts in the industry to form a jury to strictly evaluate the shortlisted works, and comprehensively scored the works from the aspects of creative design, completeness, thematic nature and marketability. Finally, three first prizes, five second prizes, ten third prizes and twenty shortlist prizes were selected.
