18 May 2020

On 15 May, the College of Chinese Opera of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and the Publicity Department of CPC Minhang District Committee signed the framework agreement for strategic cooperation on the joint project of inheritance and development of Chinese excellent traditional culture at the STA Lianhua Road.

The main leaders of the STA College of Chinese Opera, the main leaders of the Publicity Department of CPC Minhang District Committee, the relevant officials-in-charge from the Education Bureau, Culture and Tourism Bureau, Pujin Community Council, Meilong Town, Qibao Town and Gumei Community Council of Minhang District, and the head of the Minhang District Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles attended the event.

Not long ago, STA signed the agreement for a new round of cooperation with the Minhang District People's Government. The joint project of inheritance and development of Chinese excellent traditional culture is one of the specific measures to implement the agreement for this round of cooperation. At the same time, this initiative will also respond to the spirit of the “Opinions on the Implementation of the Inheritance and Development Project for Chinese Excellent Traditional Cultural” issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council and the “Notice about the Various Policies in Support of the Inheritance and Development of Chinese Opera” issued by the General Office of the State Council. Through the district-university cooperation, we will jointly shoulder the mission of promoting the traditional culture of the Chinese nation, further develop the art of Chinese opera and demonstrate cultural confidence.

The “joint project for the inheritance and development of Chinese excellent traditional culture” will focus on five major areas, including the entry of Chinese opera art into the commercial zones, the entry of Chinese opera art into the communities, the development of artistic practice bases, the popularization and education of Chinese opera art, and the artistic creation on major themes. The shape of the region under the administration of Minhang District is like a key. This golden key will open the door of cooperation. The cooperation will rely on the Chinese Opera Education Center to create a distinctive regional culture and write a wonderful stroke for the establishment of Shanghai’s cultural brand.
