A few days ago, the Ministry of Education published the list of winners for the 8th Ministry of Education Outstanding Achievement Award for Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Higher Education Institutions. The research achievement of Professor Li Zhenlin of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) “The Historical Review of the Trend of Thought in Chinese Film Performance Aesthetics (1979-2015)” was selected for the first prize in art studies.
Professor Li Zhenlin is vice chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee for Theatre, Film and Television Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, vice chairman of the China Film Literature Association, chairman of the Shanghai Film, Television and Theatre Theoretical Research Association, and director of the national-level China Literary Criticism Base.
Professor Li Zhenlin's award-winning achievement The Historical Review of the Trend of Thought in Chinese Film Performance Aesthetics (1979-2015) fills in and improves the weak link in the field of film research in the new era, greatly improving and enriching the research connotation and spiritual level of the cultural history, industrial history, ideological history and political history in the new era. According to the inner development and logic of film performance aesthetics in the new era, this book divides it into several historical periods, makes clear and in-depth analysis of the main trend of thought of aesthetics in historical periods, conducts case study of important phenomena of performance aesthetics, discovers and summarizes the experiences, gains and losses of film performance in the new era, corrects some misunderstanding of the current society and cultural circles towards film performance, and provides a scientific concept of performance aesthetics for the society and cultural circles.
It is reported that the selection of the outstanding achievement award for research (humanities and social sciences) in higher education institutions is an important measure taken by the Ministry of Education to commend and reward the achievements of the work in the field of philosophy and social sciences undertaken by higher education institutions across the country, to encourage the research workers to study rigorously, be brave in innovation and produce high-quality works, and to promote the prosperous development of philosophy and social sciences in higher education institutions. The award is selected every three years and has been held for eight times. It is the highest award in the field of humanities and social sciences in China.
