On 4 January 2020, the College of Dance of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held the 2020 undergraduate graduation showcase and job fair in the International Dance Center Theater. In 2020, there are 86 graduating students from the STA College of Dance, including 24 from the ballet major, 52 from the Chinese dance major and 10 from the choreography major. The time of four years passes so quickly. This group of students of the STA College of Dance is about to graduate, leaving the arms of their alma mater and working into the society.
Since the beginning of the current semester, the teachers had led the graduating students to prepare for the job fair. At the same time, the general office of STA College of Dance academy had worked on the preparations since November and completed all the relevant preliminary work, which ensured the smooth progress of this job fair. The job fair was divided into four parts, i.e. teaching demos, multimedia experimental dance drama “Shadow Theater”, special performance and job fair. Huang Changyong, President of STA, Zhou Yin’e, Deputy Secretary of STA, and Yang Yang, Vice President of STA, attended the special performance given by the graduating students.
At the site of the special performance, the excellent performances by the graduating students in 2020 won the high praise of the participating employing organizations. After the performance, the job fair was held in the front hall of the International Dance Center Experimental Theatre. More than 70 employing organizations participated in the job fair and provided more than 500 positions, including a number of art institutions such as Zhejiang University of Media and Communications College of Music, Ballet School affiliated to Liaoning Ballet, Dance School affiliated to Shanghai Theatre Academy and Guangzhou Art School etc, and a number of professional theatres and troupes such as Shanghai Ballet, Shanghai Dance Theatre, Shanghai Opera House, Beijing Dance Theatre, Hunan Dance Theater Co Ltd, Wuxi Dance Theater Co Ltd, Shenzhen Dance Theater Co Ltd and Guangzhou Dance Theater Co Ltd etc, as well as a number of state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, training institutions and social organizations.
We sincerely wish that under the cultivation of their employers, the graduates in 2020 will adhere to the highest pursuit of dance art, adhere to the original aspiration of dancers to stand the loneliness, strengthen the confidence of Chinese culture, and achieve greater achievements in the field of dance art.
