On 1 December 2019, “Feast” (Director: Nie Yunxing), a movie for which Professor Wan Chuanfa of the Department of Theatrical Literature of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) is the screenwriter, won the Jury Prize for the Best Film in the Rebels with a Cause Competition” at the 23rd Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia. Estonia’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is one of the largest and most famous international film festivals in Northeast Europe. It was founded in 1997 and is one of the 15 competitive feature film festivals in the world.

“Feast” is a magical surrealistic experimental film. The introduction in the Journal of the film festival is that this magical (illusory) experimental film explores the boundary between reality and fiction, the bottom line of art and practice (practical operation), and the limit of fame and fantasy. The prize citation for this movie is: Our jury decided to give this award to a movie that has a bold, skilled and artistic approach to cinema.
