2019 International Expert Seminar on New Media Performance Innovation is successfully held

The 2019 International Expert Seminar on New Media Performance Innovation was held in the Virtual Laboratory on the Huashan Road Campus of the Shanghai Theatre Academy on 17 November. This seminar is sponsored by the Shanghai Theatre Academy and organized by DPA, VPA and STA College of Creative Studies.

Up to this year, the International Expert Seminar on New Media Performance Innovation has been held for eight times since its inception in 2012. This year’s seminar invited two experts from V2 Lab for the Unstable Media in the Netherlands and experts in the new media performance design industry to join the teachers and students of STA to discuss Interactive Performance and Motion Pictures in the light of their own academic direction and practical experience, aiming to explore the interactive and behavioral possibilities existed between performance and graphic image.

Noud Heerkens and Robert Pieter Duijser from V2 Lab for the Unstable Media in the Netherlands, Liu Zhixin, Zhang Jingping and Situ Jiayi from STA College of Creative Studies, and Chen Ruokun, founder of Digital Fun Studio, made speeches at the seminar.

In addition, the experts, teachers and students attending the seminar also held open-end discussion on the related topics, leading to a clearer, more comprehensive and pioneering understanding of digital media art.
