On 21 November, the Shanghai Theatre Academy Awarding Meeting for Excellent Students in 2018-2019 Academic Year was held in Duanjun Theater on Huashan Road Campus on 21 November. The leaders of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and heads of departments and colleges attended the conference and presented awards to the representatives of teachers and students winning various honors. The meeting was presided over by Liu Qing, Vice President of STA. The heads of student affairs office and youth league committee, the counselors and class teachers of various departments and colleges, and the representatives of award-winning students attended the conference.
The awarding meeting kicked off with in the majestic national anthem. Liu Qing, Vice President of STA, introduced the basic situation of student awards in this academic year. In the 2018-2019 academic year, 1058 undergraduate and graduate students are selected for various awards, including 16 students for national and municipal scholarships, 414 undergraduate students for STA comprehensive scholarship, 292 undergraduate students for STA specialty scholarship, 48 students for undergraduate freshman scholarship, 142 postgraduate students for STA academic scholarship, 100 postgraduate students for postgraduate freshman scholarship, and 7 undergraduate students for Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera special scholarship.
The relevant leaders of STA read out the awarding decisions on various STA scholarships and awards for the 2018-2019 academic year, and presented awards to the recipients. In the speech session, the representatives of outstanding undergraduate students, outstanding postgraduate students and outstanding class teachers successively took the stage to speak. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, delivered a speech on behalf of the party and administrative leadership teams of STA, in which he congratulated all the award winning units and individuals, expressed gratitude and greetings to all the faculty and staff, and hoped that everyone would take today as a new starting point to create an even better future.
Finally, all present at the meeting stood up to sing the school song, and that brought the awarding meeting to a successful conclusion. The teachers and students of STA will turn the honors into the motivation, forge ahead with their original aspiration in mind, and strive to expedite the progress of building STA into a domestically leading and internationally first-class art university.
