“Art China” course of STA is selected into the first batch of exemplary high-quality mixed online courses in Shanghai-based universities

Recently, the “Art China” course, jointly delivered by senior experts, scholars and artists of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), was selected into the first batch of 50 exemplary high-quality mixed online courses in Shanghai after going through the process of application by the universities concerned, evaluation by the experts and online public notice.

Art China course is based on the China Series ideological and political theory elective courses implemented by colleges and universities in Shanghai. The offline mode of the course in the early stage was well received. On this basis, the online mode of the course was built, and then further developed into the mixed online course, on the basis that the offline mode of the course in the early stage had been well received. Its original intention comes from ideological and political education, that is, to aim at giving full play to the role of excellent art and culture in educating people, to pass on the correct philosophy of world, philosophy of life and philosophy of values through teaching the knowledge of different kinds of art, to guide the students to grow actively and healthily, and to work hard for the cultivation of high-quality talents with thoughts, understanding of art and rich aesthetic feeling in the new era.

The course adheres to the combination of being comprehensive and leading and the combination of professional education and common education, pays attention to the cultivation of students' ability of independent learning, develops innovative teaching modes, and adopts three forms of delivery, i.e. online, offline and face-to-face. There are a large number of registrations for the offline course, covering a wide range of specialties. So far, the number of registrations for the online course has exceeded 50,000 person/times from 270 colleges and universities cumulatively. The effect of teaching effect has been highly evaluated by students.

In the future, the course will continue to expand the accessibility, keep updating the content, enhance the student interaction, improve the assessment mechanism, and make continuous efforts to create an advanced, innovative and challenging "golden course".
