On the afternoon of 7 November, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) held a special meeting of the leading group for major literary and artistic creations and performances in the Foxi Building. STA leaders Xie Wei, Huang Changyong, Hu Min, Yang Yang, Liu Qing, and heads of relevant functional departments such as academic affairs office, performing arts center, creation centre, as well as members of the leading group for major creations and performances, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by President of STA Huang Changyong.
Shen Liang, director of the academic affairs department, and Yi Tianfu, director of the performing arts center and dean of the stage design department, respectively reported the relevant situations of several practicum productions and graduation productions that STA plans to launch next year. Zhao Yunying, director of the creation center, reported the basic situations of several key productions of STA applying for project listing with the China National Arts Fund and the Shanghai Culture Fund.
The participants to the meeting had a warm discussion on the plans, objectives and implementation methods of STA’s major creations and performances next year, and made clear the specific directions for thoughts, themes and participating parties etc for future creations.
Finally, Party Secretary of STA Xie Wei put forward general requirements for the quality of STA’s creations and performances. President of STA Huang Changyong set forth the plans and arrangements for the key work of STA’s creations and performances in the current period of time.
