On the afternoon of 5 September, the launching ceremony and the first speech session of the Declaration of the Youth to the Motherland program for university students in Shanghai were held in the Tongji University. Led by teacher Gan Shuping from the Student Affairs Office, 19 students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) participated in the launching ceremony and listened to the wonderful speeches.
In this special massive ideological and political class at the beginning of the new semester, all of the speakers were students from various universities in Shanghai. The students talked about their stories and experiences in their own language.
This event was the first public speech session held by the universities in Shanghai in response to the call of the Ministry of Education for tens of millions of university students to make the “Declaration of the Youth to the Motherland, which is also an important measure for the innovation of ideological and political education model in Shanghai. At present, the Student Affairs Office and the Youth League Committee of STA have started the work of university students making the Declaration of the Youth to the Motherland, and will carry out a variety of activities such as essay collection, speech contest, and cultural exhibition etc.
