On the morning of 2 September 2019, the opening ceremony of the military training camp for Class of 2019 new students of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held at the Oriental Land. Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of STA, heads of the student affairs office, people’s armed forces office, various departments and colleges of STA, officers and soldiers of the army troop responsible for the training, and 464 new students attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Chen Changfu, deputy commander of the military training, director of the people’s armed forces office and director of logistics and security office.
The opening ceremony officially began in the solemn ceremony of raising the national flag and singing the national anthem. Led by the chief instructor of military training, all the new students took a solemn oath to the national flag, making the voice of youth of the new era.
Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of STA, handed the flag to the chief instructor of military training. In the next eight days, the new students will complete their first lesson upon commencement of university at the military training base.
Pan Jizheng, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Teenagers Extracurricular Activities Campsite (Oriental Land), made a mobilization speech on the opening of the training camp. Zhang Xin, a student of the STA College of Dance, made a pre-military training mobilization speech on behalf of all the students. Finally, Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of STA, made a speech.
In the magnificent military music, the opening ceremony of the military training camp ended satisfactorily. Class of 2019 new students will start an eight-day military training life. Next, in addition to military training, the student affairs office and the logistics and security office will also arrange for new students to participate in an orientation program, including the study and examinations of traffic safety education, reading, university approach, teaching management and practice, student handbook and national defense education handbook etc.
