  Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarship A (full scholarship) for Foreign Students
  Rules for Application
  Scholarship A is to subsidize excellent foreign students receiving graduate education in Shanghai. Scholarship A winner can win the full scholarship, including tuition fee, living allowance, insurance programs for serious disease and accidents.
  First: Application time
  May 1st to 30th each year.
  Second: CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY
  1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
  2. Education background and age limit:
  --Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master's degree and be under the age of 45.
  --- Applicants for master's degree program must have bachelor's degree and be under the age of 40.
  3. Applicants shall have a good school performance and don't win other Chinese government scholarships at the same time.
  4. Applicants who have been admitted by or are undergraduate students of master degree or doctor degree in Shanghai Theatre Academy.
  Third: Scholarship and standard
  Scholarship A(full scholarship)
  1. Exempt from tuition fee;
  2. Living allowance: accommodation fee; subsistence allowance is provided each month, RMB1700/m for postgraduates and RMB 2000/m for Ph.D. Students.
  3. Insurance program for serious diseases and accidents.
  Forth: Application Documents
  1. The applicants must fill in and provide the following documents truly.
  2. “Application form for Scholarship A” (filled in Chinese or English)
  3. Highest diploma (notarized photocopy): Applicants shall also provide proof of studying on application. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations versions in Chinese or English.
  4. Academic transcripts (notarized photocopy): Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
  5. A study or research plan. All applicants are required to submit a study or research plan(no less than 1000 words)。 It must be in Chinese or in English.
  6. Recommendation letters: Applicants must submit letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from two professors or associate professors by the graduate school.
  7. Photocopy of passport.
