On 4 May 2019, the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) and the Experimental Center of Cinematography (National Film Academy) of Italy held a cooperation agreement signing ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Adriano De Santis, Director of the Experiment Center of Cinematography (National Film Academy), Huang Changyong, President of STA, Zhang Jiachun, Chief Accountant of STA, Zhang Yunlei, Director of the International Exchange Center of STA, He Yan, Dean of the Acting Department of STA, Li Zhenling, Dean of the College of Film and Television of STA, Ma Linhong, Executive Deputy Dean of the College of Continuing Education of STA, and Lou Yan, program officer at the International Exchange Center of STA. After the signing ceremony, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, met with Director Adriano De Santis.
STA and the Experimental Center of Cinematography (National Film Academy) of Italy have maintained a good relationship of cooperation, and have jointly carried out student exchange and teacher exchange programs. Huang Changyong, President of STA, said at the meeting that the signing of the formal agreement between the two schools has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation between the two sides in the future, and that the new Pujiang Campus of STA is about to be put into use and provides a good opportunity with which the Experimental Center of Cinematography (National Film Academy) of Italy will certainly be helpful to the development of film and television majors of STA. Adriano De Santis, Director of the Experimental Centre of Cinematography (National Film Academy), expressed his gratitude to STA and said that after years of cooperation, the mutual understanding and mutual trust between the two schools have laid a good foundation for opening a new chapter of deeper cooperation between the two sides going forward. Italy is the birthplace of film development, understanding European movies and Italian movies is a good starting point for cultural cooperation in film.
The signing ceremony was a complete success. After that, Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, had a cordial and friendly meeting with Adriano De Santis, Director of the Experiment Center of Cinematography (National Film Academy). The two sides exchanged views on the differences in film teaching between China and Italy as well as the mutual learning, and looked forward to deeper cooperation between the two sides in the future.
