On the evening of 28 April, the thematic event of the students of Shanghai Theatre Academy commemorating the 100th anniversary of the May 4th Movement was solemnly held in Duanjun Theatre. Xie Wei, Party Secretary of STA, Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA, Zhou Yin'e, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of STA, Zhang Weiling, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of STA, Tang Lituo, Vice President of STA, and Zhang Jiachun, Chief Accountant of STA, attended the event and sang My Motherland and I with the teachers and students on the spot.
The thematic event began with the solemn national anthem. The opening dance Red brought the audience into a highly ritual atmosphere, making people feel as if they touched that era of national salvation a hundred years ago. The thematic event was divided into three chapters, namely, “stories in pursuit of original aspiration”, “implementation of literary and artistic purposes”, and “determination of ideals and beliefs”. Teachers and students worked together as the narrators to organically connect each chapter in a poetic language, thereby enabling the whole activity to achieve a more dramatic and immersive effect of ideological education.
At the end of the thematic activity, all teaches and students sang My Motherland and I, and the melodious music echoed in Duanjun Theater for a long time. Teachers and students waved the five-star red flag, feeling the spiritual warmth of the May 4th Movement and expressing their sincere and best wishes for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with their singing.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC and the 100th anniversary of the May 4th Movement, the young students of STA will continue to be the pioneers, explorers and contributors bravely walking in the forefront of the times under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, who will strengthen their cultural confidence, shoulder the historic task of building a strong socialist cultural country, and let the spirit of the May 4th Movement shine a more dazzling light of the times.
