First event of STA Teachers’ Salon is held successfully

On the afternoon of 4 April, the Teachers’ Salon event hosted by the Teacher Affairs Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was held in the multi-function hall of the STA Library. The first event of the Teachers’ Salon was addressed by Wang Su, member of the CPPCC National Committee and full-time vice chairwoman of the STA Trade Union. Hu Min, Deputy Party Secretary of STA, Zhou Yin’e, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Disciplinary Commission of STA, and more than 40 faculty and staff members participated in the event. The event was presided over by Xu Ying, Deputy Director of the Teacher Affair Department of the CPC STA Committee.


During the event, Wang Su reviewed her trip to Beijing to attend the meetings of the CPPCC National Committee and, in particular, shared reflections and feelings after listening to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s talk when he visited the CPPCC members of the cultural and artistic circles and the social science circles attending the second session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee. She also talked about her experience of academic visit in Italy last year. She encouraged that more teachers of STA, especially those in management positions, should go abroad to feel the compatibility and inclusiveness of culture and art, broaden their horizons and increase their insights. Wang Su also called for all STA teachers and staff present at the event to do a good job in teaching and teaching services with their heart and soul.

The Teachers’ Salon aim to better serve the teachers and staff, making it a platform to promote interaction between teachers, broaden teachers' interests and enhance teachers' quality. In the future, more activities of the Teachers' Salon will be held from time to time, inviting experts and professors from within and without STA to interact face-to-face with the teachers and staff for exchange and learning.
