“Tsinghua Tradition” in the History of Chinese Modern Drama

Abstract: Two questions are to be involved when it comes to the “Tsinghua tradition” in the history of Chinese modern drama. The first question is that “why do many an outstanding drama personnel graduate from Tsinghua University? ”The literary and artistic activities, curriculum objectives, professional education concepts and academic research orientation--any of these can serve as a “productive” force for the sustainable development of a certain art. This “productive” force can accumulate to form a tradition, which contributes to the independence and sustainability of the teaching method of a university in a certain historical period.
This independence and sustainability reinforce and interdependent on each other. The second question is that “what are the main features of their drama theory study and practice?” Tradition is created by and passed down by human beings. The answer to this question will explain the unique value and meaning of “Tsinghua tradition” in the history of Chineses modern drama in clear-cut terms. “Tsinghua tradition” are consist of four parts, namely, “modern construction in drama theory, humanity exploration in drama connotation, European and America orientation in drama resources and expertise standard in drama education”
