On 25 September at 12 noon, Prof Huang Changyong, Vice President of STA and Dean of College of Creative Studies, Mr Liu Zhixin, Deputy Dean of College of Creative Studies and Mr Fang Jun, Party Secretary of College of Creative Studies, together with the relevant teachers, got together with all 31 new students of Year 2014 at the 4th floor conference of the STA Library. Mr Fan Jun chaired the meeting.
First of all, Mr Liu Zhijun welcomed the new students on behalf of all the teachers, and introduced the current status and future targets of the College of Creative Studies. Then, a number of students reported on the situation of their university life and study over the past two weeks and asked the teachers about the questions concerning the CET4/CET6 exams, dormitory arrangements and direction of academic studies. The relevant teaching answered their questions respectively and encouraged the students to learn a second foreign language in preparation for international academic exchange. This session enabled the students to have a better understanding and planning for their university life and study going forward.
Subsequently, over a dozen students of the Digital Media Class performed a cup dance. With skillful hand movements, the cups hit the surface of the table with rhythmic beats, creating a lively atmosphere. The cup dance greatly impressed all the teachers present.
Finally, Prof Huang Changyong made a closing speech. He hoped that having just come out from the middle school campus, the new students would get used to the self-motivated study model of the university, make a proper and reasonable arrangement of their spare time, and enjoy their time at STA while constantly thriving high.
