The opening ceremony of the Shanghai Theatre Academy Year 2014 new student military training was held at the playground of the Shanghai Jiansheng Education Centre on 31 August at 10.30 am. STA’s Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min and Vice President Huang Changyong attended the opening ceremony together with the heads of the Student Affairs Office, Security Office and various colleges/departments, as well as the officers and soldiers of the troop that provides the training and over 430 Year 2014 new students.
The opening ceremony commenced with the ceremony to raise the national flag to the accompaniment of the national anthem. Vice President Huang Changyong presented the flag of the STA Year 2014 student military training team to the chief trainer who received the flag and gave a pep-talk. A student representative also gave a speech on behalf of all participating students. Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min emphasized in her speech that the military training for the new students is an important part of their university life and an important course that they must study well and that it is also the first challenge that the new students will face in their university life as well as a new test that requires painstaking efforts from them.
The opening ceremony was concluded successfully in the majestic martial music. The nine-day military training for the new students of Year 2014 will roll out. During this period, apart from the military training activities, the Student Affairs Office and Academic Affairs Office will also arrange a comprehensive orientation program for the new students covering academic counseling, psychology, national defense, academic affairs and STA history.
