29 August was the registration day for the Year 2014 new students. With the concept of “care for the students from the first day of their enrolment”, STA has mobilized its teachers and students to participate in the work of welcoming the new students who come onto the STA campus with visions and dreams for arts. The preparatory work started from 7 am and all teachers and students involved looked very much forward to the arrival of the new students.
At around 8 am, the STA Theatre on Huashan Road campus and White Palace Theatre on Lianhua Road campus were filled with teachers, parents and students, and the new student registration and related work were carried out in an orderly way.
Many 2nd and 3rd year students joined as volunteers. The bigger brothers and sisters, they warmly received the new students and guided them through the registration procedures with great patience. STA leaders including Deputy Party Secretary Hu Min also cared a lot about the new student registration. They came especially to the site for inspection and held friendly and caring conversations with the teachers in charge and new students.
In order to ensure a smooth and effective new student registration and orientation, the various departments and colleges of the STA had held specific meetings on many occasions, and the functional divisions and offices such as the student affairs office, academic affairs office, medical clinic, security division, information centre, finance division and logistic division had well coordinated and proactively supported, and the processes in relation to study aid application, insurance, campus card issuance etc were all carried in an orderly manner.
