In memory of the 110th anniversary of the birth of Deng Xiaoping (late senior Chinese leader), a 48-episode TV series named Deng Xiaoping during Historical Transition is on show in CCTV Channel 1. A number of alumni of the Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA), namely, Ma Shaohua, Sha Rina, Song Jia, Sun Chun, Wang Xihua and Shen Aojun, participated in this TV series and did an excellent job with their respective role.
Under the organization and guidance of the Archive Research Office of the CPC Central Committee and CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, this TV series is the co-production of the China Central TV Station (CCTV) and a number of other organizations. It depicts how Deng Xiaoping had led China into a new future during the period from 1976 to 1984 and truly reproduces historical scene of the early years of China’s reform and opening-up.
In the TV series, Ma Shaohua acts the role of Deng Xiaoping. Sha Rina acts the role of Deng Xiaoping’s wife Zuo Lin. Wang Xihua and Shen Aojun act the roles of Deng Xiaoping’s two daughters Deng Lin and Deng Nan respectively. Sun Chuan and Song Jia also act important roles in the TV series.
