The Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) is widely recognized as the cradle of art in Shanghai and “Produced by STA” is the crystallization of art that embraces art works from diverse sources and origins. STA micro film was initiated in 2010. Over the past four years, it has gone through a course of dynamic development in terms of content upgrading, event upgrading, impact upgrading and sentiment upgrading and has established “Produced by STA” an leading brand of micro films that incorporates a series of activities and events including the Micro Film of the Year, STA Campus Micro Film Competition, 2 Days Micro Film Competition, New Zealand Auckland 48 Hours Short Film Competition, Annual Award Ceremony and Annual Micro Film Forum etc.
In the evening of 7 June, the opening ceremony of 2014 STA Micro Film Festival and micro film “The Road of My Return” debut screening was held successfully at the New Hengshan Cinema in Shanghai’s Xuhui District. Leaders of the China Television Artists Association, CPC Xuhui District Committee, STA and Wenhui Daily attended the opening ceremony. The key members of “The Road of My Return” team appeared on the stage. Representatives of the New Zealand Chinese Language Media Group and other partner organizations were also present together with dozens of media representatives from different cities in China.
During the opening ceremony, the leaders jointly launched the 2014 STA Micro Film Festival. The key members of “The Road of My Return” joined the audience for the debut screening of their works and shared with them the stories happened during the production of the film.
After the opening ceremony, the 2 Days Micro Film Competition rolled out involving over 400 participating teams from across China. Two days and two nights, sleepless and restless, the completion would be a micro film carnival for the young people.
