STA Teacher Hu Zuo receives Chinese Cultural Ministry's Wenhua Award

Recently, Associate Professor Hu Zuo of Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA)'s Stage Design Department achieved great results at the 10th China Art Festival and won the Wenhua Award for Scenography.

The Wenhua Award is the national-level Chinese government award for stage arts. As the national-level grand art festival, the 10th China Art Festival attracted 87 performances from across China to compete for the various prizes of the Wenhua Award.

In this year's Wenhua Award selection, three performances for which Hu Zuo was the stage designer won the relevant prizes. Of these three performances, Guiju opera "Seven Steps Verse" won the Wenhua Award for Scenography (Stage Design) as well as the first prize for local opera of the Wenhua Award Excellent Show, and Peking opera "Ruifuxiang" and "The General Road" won the Wenhua Award Grand Prize as well as the first prize for Peking opera and Kunqu opera of the Wenhua Award Excellent Show respectively.
